color cosmetics

We work very closely with the cosmetics industry and are grateful that they consider our instruments and expertise with such high regard. Our texture analyzers are used by almost every major player in the cosmetics industry to precisely quantify the textural and physical characteristics that are critical to retail customers. Many of the major brands we work with use our instruments to establish performance standards with their co-packers, which has vastly improved quality, consistency and consumer satisfaction. Our products and test methods have even been featured in Cosmetics and Toiletries magazine.

We’re honored to be included in a wonderful new resource for the cosmetic industry. Color Cosmetics: A Practical Guide to Formulation by Jane C. Hollenberg offers a detailed discussion on what today’s chemists must deal with in the extra phase that consists of solid pigment particles. The book is organized into four major sections that cover all important aspects of the cosmetic industry, including:

  • The history and function of the product type
  • The basic properties of the cosmetic, and why they are important
  • Detailed discussions on the ingredients used
  • The formulation process to create the finished product

The TA.XTPlus is mentioned in chapter four along with a photo of the instrument testing lipsticks.
