It is critically important to quantify the firmness of petfoods and animal health products. It has animal feed, health and wellness implications.

Animal feed. Dog food. Cat food. Aquaculture feed. Our instruments are extensively used to measure the firmness and shelf life of a wide variety of petfoods. Believe it or not, you can conduct preference surveys for many types of animal feed and correlate that information with product hardness, toughness, brittleness and cohesiveness.

Animal Health. All of the classic pharmaceutical and medical applications of SMS' texture analyzers can also be deployed in petcare and animal health environments. Quantify tablet hardness, chewability, quantify veterinary bio-adhesives, suspensions, granule and pellet friability, flow of feeds, etc.

Nutritional Studies. Our instruments are used to quantify the nutritional health and growth implications of changes in animal feed and supplements.
