IFT18 in Chicago

We had another excellent time at the Institute of Food Technologists’ (IFT) annual meeting and expo in Chicago last month. We were pleased to debut the newest model of our texture analyzers, the TA.XTPlusConnect Texture Analyzers.

We had some great conversations with many folks. Some topics included:

  • New plant-based and lab grown proteins: We continue to work with many growing companies in this space. Product texture is of great important for consumer acceptance and our texture analyzers continue to help this industry grow exponentially. http://www.iftevent.org/News/ift18-power-up-with-plant-based-protein
  • How texture analysis can expedite the reformulation of existing products to meet consumer demands for “healthier” or “cleaner” ingredients. Product reformulation often includes a time-consuming hit-or-miss style of recipe tweaking to obtain a desirable product texture. Our texture analyzers help precisely quantify a product’s physical attributes making reformulations faster and easier to develop. We had some great conversations with several people explaining how our texture analyzers can help them more easily tackle their reformulation challenges. http://www.iftevent.org/News/ift18-hitting-the-sweet-spot-in-sugar-reduction
  • How texture analysis can help validate your product’s marketing claims and industry “buzzwords.” Marketing claims can be difficult to validate. However, claims about a product’s physical attributes such as crispiness and crunchiness can be easily backed up by our texture analyzers. It was amazing to share this with several of our customers who didn’t know that our texture analyzers had this ability and watch them run back to their respective labs to get started. http://www.iftevent.org/News/ift18-whats-the-buzz-words-that-matter-to-consumers
