spreadability

Abstract

We often get requests for measuring the spreadability of food products such as butters, spreads, peanut butter, margarines, cheese, and cream cheese, as well as non-food items such as lotions, creams, gel shaving creams, joint compound, greases, etc. We recently developed a fixture designed to isolate spreadability. The rig is called the TA-425 TTC Spreadability Fixtureâ„¢ (patent applied for) and is a set of precisely matched male and female acrylic 90o cones. The cones then are pressed together and the spreadability of the material is analyzed.
