A pharmaceutical company manufactures a pectin-based gummy chewable. The R&D team ran into two significant problems that could be the sources of future consumer complaints. The product’s firmness varied from batch to batch and the sole testing method for firmness was to squish a sample by hand. The product also had some adhesion issues when the gummy pieces stuck and fused together in their containers over time.
