Background

In 1953, the founders of Ore-Ida created the tater tot, a bite-sized fried potato snack known for its crispy exterior and tender interior. This study on tater tots, the second in a series, uses the TA.XT Plus Texture Analyzer, Exponent software, and a TA-045 incisor knife blade to puncture and shear individual tater tots. The study objective was to determine whether a blade fixture can effectively measure the crispiness and internal toughness of tater tots. The first study can be found here.
