Background

This study valuates the performance of various facial tissue brands under wet and dry conditions. First, the effect of fiber orientation on tensile strength is assessed by testing a single facial tissue brand in both horizontal and vertical orientations. Then, three different facial tissue brands will be compared in a single orientation to assess brand-related performance differences. Tensile strength testing was conducted using a TA.XTPlus Texture Analyzer, Exponent software, TA-96B upper grip, and a Finch cup. This is the fourth in a series on the tensile strength of paper products. For the first in the series, click here.
